1. MR JUSTICE SILBER: The Nursing and Midwifery Council seek an extension of the interim suspension order imposed on Carl John Thompson's registration by an Investigating Committee of the Nursing and Midwifery Council on 7 June 2011. This order is due to expire on 6 April 2011. The extension sought is for six months. 2. The application and supporting witness statements and exhibits have been served on the respondent, and there is a form of consent in which the respondent confirms receiving the claim form, that he does not intend to attend the hearing, that he does not intend to be represented at the hearing, that he does not oppose the application and that he consents to the application being dealt with without a hearing. 3. For those reasons, I order the interim order be extended to 4pm on 5 September 2011. The respondent has permission, on giving three days' written notice to the applicant, to apply to the court to vary or discharge the order. No order for costs.
